First year LEO consortium meeting

The LEO 1st year consortium meeting was held in Goteborg (Sweden) the 23 March 2015. The objective of this meeting was threefold: i) gather all the consortium partners and meet face-to-face to discuss the advancement of project's activities and update the time plan; ii) visit the research facilities of our host SP Food, former SIK, and learn more on their internal research and innovation activities; and iii) discover the LEO conveyor oven prototype built by Ircon and recently arrived at their premises.
After the meeting all the consortium visited SP facilities where they have stored the conveyor prototype and we all participated to one of the first baking test of crispy rolls. After all the time and efforts of the 1st year to design and manufacture the three LEO prototypes, we could finally see a concrete outcome of the project. Many different testing must be performed (laboratory testing, in-situ testing, sensory analysis) as well as the life-cycle assessment and the business plan, but the consortium reached a significant milestone and our infrared ovens are getting closer to the mass market.
