First semester consortium meeting

The 1st of July the whole LEO consortium gathered again in Agueda within Ramalhos’ facilities to hold the 1st semester consortium meeting. In addition to project discussions and a visit of the plant, the partners could enjoyed the nice weather of Portugal at that time of the year.

During the first 6 months of the project, the partners have shown dedication and motivation to perform high quality tasks related to the manufacture of the three IR prototype ovens, the preparation of the life-cycle assessment, and support activities to gear-up to market. Ramalhos already sent two standard ovens to ONIRIS to perform the initial energy audit, while Ircon worked hard to propose different solutions related to the IR lamps (e.g. power, reflector, position).

So far the consortium has submitted the protocols and methodologies for the bread recipes, sensory analysis, life-cycle assessment, and energy counting. The market study is on-going and many data and statistics have been collected. The consortium is convinced of the success of the technology and the interest of the market. We plan to manufacture the three IR prototypes by the end of the year.

The LEO consortium will meet again at the beginning of next year in Vänersborg (Sweden) for the 1st year consortium meeting.
